The opportunities for partnership in the implementation of investment policies in Bulgarian Posts EAD and in the railway sector were discussed at a meeting on Wednesday between Transport and Communications Minister Georgi Gvozdeikov and European Investment Bank (EIB) Vice President Kyriakos Kakouris, the Transport and Communications Ministry said.
"We have the ambition to change the vision of Bulgarian Post's management and to use the company's capacity to develop its maximum potential, including through new services," Gvozdeikov said during the talks. He stressed that the first important step is the approval of the restructuring plan of the postal operator by the European Commission. "We will rely on financial institutions such as the EIB to find financing to implement the activities set out in this plan. The big goal is to prevent losses, stabilise the company and achieve better results," Gvozdeikov added.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Transport and Communications Anna Mihneva-Natova and Boris Gerasimov, and representatives of the EIB and Bulgarian Posts EAD.
Earlier on Wednesday, the EIB and the European Investment Fund, members of the EIB Group, announced a series of agreements with Bulgarian partners to support the development of the Bulgarian economy and the achievement of the carbon neutrality target.
