In 2022, 9.3% of the EU population declared that they were unable to keep their home adequately warm, a 2.4-percentage-point increase compared with 2021, Eurostat reported on Monday.
The highest share of people with this problem was registered in Bulgaria with 22.5%, followed by Cyprus with 19.2%, Greece with 18.7%, Lithuania and Portugal each with 17.5%, Spain with 17.1% and Romania with 15.2%.
In contrast, the lowest shares were reported in Finland with 1.4%, Luxembourg with 2.1%, Slovenia with 2.6%, Austria with 2.7%, Czechia with 2.9%, Sweden with 3.3% and Estonia with 3.4%.
