Bulgaria and the UK have built a strategic partnership and Bulgaria has a potential to attract more British tourists. Tourism Minister Zaritsa Dinkova and British Ambassador Rob Dixon rallied around the idea, said the Tourism Ministry on Friday.

Ambassador Dixon thanked the Ministry for its assistance extended to Bettany Hughes, a British historian and host of the Treasures of World programme, broadcast in 120 countries. The diplomat suggested help with the presentation of the film, which Prof. Hughes made to show the treasures of Bulgaria that are unknown to the international public.

Advertising Bulgaria as a year-round destination is a priority in campaigns on the British marker which will include a road show, digital advertising and cooperation with travel agents, said Minister Dinkova. She underscored that Bulgaria is known for various historical and natural landmarks which can attract the interest of Bristish tourists outside the summer and winter season.

During the meeting the sides discussed possibilities for better access of British tourists to medical services to avoid the expensive fees at the Bulgarian seaside to which there are alerts.
They rallied around the need to continue the fruitful cooperation in tourism and mapped out concrete steps to attract tourists all year round.
