The Bulgarian News Agency has a new information centre - BTA Archive Hub. It is located in the building of the agency on 49 Tsarigradsko Shosse in Sofia. At the entrance the readers of the archive will be welcomed by the art installation "Your Audience" from 2024, created by Prof. Georgi Yankov, rector of the National Academy of Arts.
The hub will be open for readers from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00. It gives access to BTA's archives to all interested for journalistic, cultural, educational and scientific purposes. Access to the archives will also be available to all students. Access to the reading room has been provided for people with disabilities as well.
As early as the formation of the "Reference Editorial Office" in the 1950s, a reading room was set up where the journalists working at the BTA used newspapers and magazines from the Bulgarian and foreign periodicals for their work.
Nowadays the BTA boasts a modern reading room that provides access to the agency's extensive archives.
In the BTA Archive Hub readers will be able to use the digitized content of the archive collection for their needs. The digitization is being carried out under the project "Digitization of the specialized archival and reference collections of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA)", Component 4 of the project of the Ministry of Culture "Digitization of museum collections, libraries and archives of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan".
