The Minister of Culture, Maestro Nayden Todorov, presented at an official ceremony Tuesday the State-owned Stradivarius (1716) and Guarneri (1733) violins to Bulgarian musicians Svetlin Roussev and Liya Petrova.

The instruments are the property of the Bulgarian State and were previously played by Prof. Stoyka Milanova and Prof. Mincho Minchev. Svetlin Roussev and Liya Petrova earned the right to play them for the next five years.

Liya Petrova told BTA that her first performance with the 1733 Guarneri violin will be in a week's time in one of the most beautiful halls in Europe, which is in Budapest, at the Liszt Academy. Svetlin Roussev's first performance with the 1716 Stradivarius will be on Thursday in Belgium at a concert of works by Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov.
