The sixth edition of the International Festival JAM ON THE RIVER 2024 starts on July 31 and will last for four days, organizers announced on Friday.

"Starting this year, the festival is no longer two days long, but we have expanded the format of the event to four consecutive days," said Veronika Todorova, founder of the festival and a participant in the music programme. "For all these six years, we have been following the vision and working with the belief that high class music does not necessarily need a concert hall, stadium or public environment. Our festival offers a variety of national and international musicians every year and admission is always free because we believe that everyone should have access to high art and draw on the energy of nature. We try, and I think we succeed, in creating a magical brew of human talent and natural harmony," she said.

The festival starts on the evening of July 31 in the courtyard of the church "St. Petka" in the village of Debnevo. The music programme will start with a concert of the music-social project "Music instead of the street" (Sliven) and the Multicultural Orchestra Giessen (Germany) under the baton of maestro Georgi Kalaidjiev.

Other artists who will present their works are Echoo Balkan Samba sextet, Minko Lambov, who presents the ethno-fusion formation "SHAKA ZULU ORCHESTRA", Pleven Philharmonic Orchestra, and Vesko Eschkenazy.

In addition to music, guests will be able to enjoy traditional Bulgarian dishes, grilled meat and vegetables, pancakes and waffles, ice cream, treats for young and old.

Special entertainment for children is planned in the programme, the organizers said.
