Artist Marta Djourina’s exhibition titled "Fluid Contact" will close the summer edition of Culturama 2024. The art project will be on display until July 8 at the Crystal Garden in Sofia, the festival team said.
"'Fluid Contact' is an innovative and artistic study, deploying creative methods to perceive the world through the prism of water. It represents the effort to deconstruct traditional photography methods centered on human nature, offering a new means of expression based on the fluidity of water, overcoming the conventional boundaries of photography, and enabling the use of camera-less experimental techniques," the organizers said.
Born in 1991 in Sofia, Marta Djourina studied at Humboldt University in Berlin, the Technical University of Berlin, the Berlin University of the Arts, and the Glasgow School of Art. She has been lecturing in experimental photography at the Berlin University of the Arts since 2020. Her work has been displayed in numerous international exhibitions, including at the Berlinische Galerie at the Museum of Modern Art, Feldbusch Wiesner Rudolph, the Eskenazi Museum of Art at Indiana University, Goethe-Institut Bulgaria, and Sofia Arsenal - Museum of Contemporary Art.
