The photo exhibition "Mirrors of Love" dedicated to people with Down syndrome is on display in the central lobby of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy. The opening was attended by two ministers, Ivanka Shalapatova of Labour and Social Policy and Todor Tagarev of Defence, the Labour Ministry’s press centre reported Wednesday.

The exhibition is the work of Rositsa Bukova from the Bulgarian Mothers' Movement Foundation and is organized jointly with the Down Syndrome-Bulgaria association. The exposition aims to show that people with Down syndrome can live with dignity when they are cared for by their supported birth family and when the community accepts them as normal, the release said.

The exhibition will remain in the central lobby of the Labour Ministry until Monday, December 11, after which it will be displayed by the Municipality of Pernik.

In early December, Ombudsman Diana Kovacheva presented the photo exhibition in her headquarters. The event was dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities - December 3.
