Famous Norwegian writer Atle Ness will visit Bulgaria for a short literary tour in the country and participation in the Sofia International Literary Festival in the National Palace of Culture on December 5, publishing house Izida said on Thursday.

Atle Ness, born in 1949, is one of the best European writers in the biographical genre, Izida added. He graduated from the University of Oslo, where he studied English, Norwegian and linguistics. He worked as a teacher before devoting himself entirely to literature. He has written novels and biographies of Leonardo da Vinci, Galileo Galilei and Edvard Munch. He has won the most prestigious Norwegian prize for literature, the Brage Prize.

His biographies of Da Vinci, Munch, Caravaggio, Galilei and Apostle Paul are translated into Bulgarian.
