Sofia University Hosts Photo Exhibition "Poland through My Eyes"

The central lobby of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" houses an exhibition of the winning works of the participants in the first edition of the photography competition "Poland through my eyes", organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Sofia in cooperation with the Faculty of Slavic Studies of Sofia University, within the framework of a project for the Polish community funded by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the university’s press centre said on Tuesday.

The competition is organized for children, youth and adults, Poles and lovers of Poland, temporarily or permanently living in Bulgaria. To participate, applicants were asked to send a photo with a short description in Polish.

The opening of the exhibition was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Bulgaria Maciej Szymanski, the Director of the Polish Institute in Sofia Karol Zielinski, teachers and pupils from the Polish school in Sofia, lecturers and students from Sofia University.

The exhibition was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dilyana Dencheva from the Faculty of Slavic Studies.

Ambassador Szymanski thanked all the participants in the competition and expressed his positive impressions of all the photographs submitted.

The competition selected 45 entries depicting charming landscapes, majestic landmarks and magical spots across Poland.
