site.btaTISP Leader Trifonov Voices Support for Protests, Tougher Legislation against Animal Cruelty

In a Facebook post on Monday, There Is Such a People (TISP) leader Slavi Trifonov said that he fully supports the protests against the killing of animals. "I fully support the changes in the law that provide for stricter penalties for the killing of animals," his post reads. 

"Like you, I can hardly assimilate what this girl from Pernik and her friend have done," Trifonov also wrote.

He was referring to a 26-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man arrested in Pernik on March 16 and charged with causing the death of animals for the purpose of obtaining property benefits. The case caused protests against animal cruelty and abuse across the country, as well as proposals for tougher animal cruelty legislation.
