site.btaBulgarian, Spanish Prosecution Services Sign Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding

Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov and his Spanish counterpart Alvaro Garcia Ortiz signed  a Memorandum of Cooperation and Understanding between the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Bulgaria and the  Crown Prosecution of the State of the Kingdom of Spain, said the prosecution service on Monday. 

The document envisages strengthening bilateral legal cooperation, deepening the exchange of experience through joint trainings to develop the capacity of prosecutors and employees, developing common strategies for combating organized crime, preparing joint investigations, etc.

Sarafov and Ortiz praised the good cooperation between the two countries in the field of criminal law as part of the successful counteraction to cross-border organized crime. Sarafov also highlighted the excellent operational interaction between the law enforcement and law enforcement bodies of Bulgaria and Spain.

Ortiz is on a working visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Borislav Sarafov in response to a visit by Acting Prosecutor General to Spain at the end of 2023.
