Conditions for tourism in the high parts of the mountains are poor on Monday due to fog and wind, the Bulgarian Red Cross Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) reported.

There is no new snow cover. Snow is drifting in places in the Rhodope Mountains. There is a danger of avalanches. Therefore, mountain rescuers advise vigilance when entering avalanche-prone slopes, as there are drifts on the eastern and northeastern slopes.

On Sunday, a 37-year-old skier died on a ski slope near Chepelare, Interior Ministry Regional Directorate spokesperson Elena Stoilova reported to BTA.
