"Bulgaria remains committed to supporting Ukraine and its people. Peace must be lasting, just and based on international law," GERB leader Boyko Borissov said on Facebook on the third anniversary of the war in Ukraine.

"Three years ago, Russia launched a full-scale military aggression against Ukraine - a war that has brought thousands of casualties, millions of displaced and widespread destruction. In addition to the human tragedy, the war violated basic principles of international law and continues to threaten the security of Europe," Borissov said.

"The Ukrainian people have shown extraordinary resilience and determination in defending their independence. Support for Ukraine is not only a matter of solidarity, but also of upholding the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity and the right of each state to determine its own future," Borissov noted.
