site.btaBulgaria Challenges World Champion Germany but Loses in Bamberg, Missing Out on EuroBasket 2025 Qualification

The Bulgarian men's basketball national team lost to world champions Germany 85-94 (21-28, 14-34, 22-13, 28-19) as guests in Bamberg, in the final round of Group D in the EuroBasket 2025 qualifiers, failing to qualify for the upcoming European Championship.
Bulgaria needed a win over the strong opponent to secure a spot at the September tournament. However, with this defeat, the Bulgarian team remained in last place in the group standings, with two wins and four losses.
Despite being without their star player Aleksandar Vezenkov and naturalized American Cody Miller-McIntyre, who had played a key role in the previous victory over Sweden in the qualifiers, the Bulgarian team delivered a strong performance against the world champions, managing the host team's lead to just five points in the final minutes of the game.
