site.btaBulgaria Promoted as Tourist Destination at First-Ever Roadshow in UAE

The first-ever roadshow promoting Bulgaria as an attractive tourist destination in the United Arab Emirates took place on February 20 at the five-star Shangri-La Dubai Hotel, the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism reported on Monday. Nearly 100 representatives from leading travel agencies across the Middle East and the Gulf region attended the event.
Opening the roadshow, Bulgaria's Ambassador to the UAE, Ivan Yordanov, highlighted the event's significance in strengthening tourism ties between the two countries and the future opportunities it opens up.
Fraport Twin Star Airport Management CEO Frank Quante and Senior Air Traffic Development Expert Radostina Zlateva presented the wide range of experiences Bulgaria offers, from unique nature and a favorable climate with four seasons, to SPA and wellness tourism, golf, and more. A key highlight was the new direct flight route between Abu Dhabi and Varna, launching on March 31 with Wizz Air, providing easy access to Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast.
At individual B2B meetings, participants had the chance to form new partnerships and exchange ideas. More than 15 organizations from Bulgaria’s tourism sector, including hoteliers, tour operators, the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance, the Ministry of Tourism, and the Municipality of Varna, took part in the event.
The event was supported by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with Fraport Twin Star Airport Management, the Bulgarian Black Sea Alliance, the International Hotel, and Win Travel.
The next step in the campaign to promote Bulgaria in the UAE will be an educational tour ("fam trip") for representatives of leading travel agencies. The aim is for them to get to know Northern Bulgaria's Black Sea coast, its natural and cultural heritage, hotel facilities, and various tourism opportunities.
