There Is Such a People (TISP) party leader Slavi Trifonov is opposed to GERB leader Boyko Borissov’s proposal that the National Assembly chairperson’s seat be given to Atanas Atanasov of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and the prime minister’s office be taken over by himself (Borissov).

Trifonov said in a statement released by TISP that the party’s position on the future Parliament chair and the formation of a ruling majority remains unchanged. “As for Boyko Borissov becoming prime minister and Atanas Atanasov becoming Parliament chair – definitely not!” Trifonov asserted.

He also commented: “Concerning Boyko Borissov’s latest remarks for the media, I want to state clearly: neither my representatives nor myself have conducted negotiations over the last few days with GERB, with anyone from GERB, about anything. This is not counting the latest meeting in Parliament, at which Mr Toshko Yordanov and the leadership of the TISP parliamentary group met with Mr Boyko Borissov and the leadership of the GERB parliamentary group, but reached no agreement whatsoever and did not discuss a future majority or the Parliament chair; those were talks about the current situation in our country.”
