site.btaProtest March in Central Sofia Expresses Support for Girls and Women Victims of Violence

A protest march in the centre of Sofia expressed support for girls and women who have been victims of violence.The event was organised by Feminist Mobilisations on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women  - 25 November.

The organisers have announced that they are pushing for changes to the Protection against Domestic Violence Act so that it starts to protect every victim of domestic violence, regardless of length of relationship, race, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, economic status.The petitioners demand an immediate end to institutional violence against trans women and LGBTI+ people, and that crisis and counseling centers for victims of violence be established in every county in the country. 

Similar protest marches are scheduled to take place in Gabrovo, Plovdiv and Stara Zagora.
