site.btaBulgarian Community in Netherlands Hosts Information Event at Eindhoven Public Library
An information day at the Eindhoven Public Library Sunday introduced Bulgarians in the Netherlands to their labour rights and career opportunities, as well as the challenges facing migrants, in the social sphere, healthcare, education and culture. The organizer of the event was Bulgarian Society Eindhoven.
Stands of nearly 10 organizations were located in the lobby of the library, including llegal advisors, social assistants, career consultants, software and technology experts, various other experts as well as representatives of the the Bulgarian Student Association in Eindhoven and the Bulgarian Society Eindhoven.
The event also featured a representative of the Bulgarian Wine House online store.
A Bulgarian Cultural Association from Belgium presented Bulgarian culture and folklore, and Gloria Angelova presented paneurhythmy and a healthy lifestyle.
The event took place simultaneously in Bulgarian, English and/or Dutch, which made it accessible to everyone.
According to Eurostat data, as of 2022, the Bulgarian community in the Netherlands numbered 47,699 people, according to other information as of January 1, 2024 they were 60,494 people, which makes the country the fifth in largest number of Bulgarians in the European Union. The Netherlands is a traditional destination for Bulgarian students, whose number in 2023 was about 5,300, which is 38% of all outgoing Bulgarian students.
