On Wednesday evening, for a second day in a row, citizens staged a protest in downtown Sofia, demanding the annulment of the October 27 snap parliamentary elections.
The protesters were divided into two groups - one organized by the Bulgaria United for One Goal (BOEC) civic movement, and another supporting the Velichie political party which narrowly missed the 4% threshold to enter Parliament with a result of 3.999%.
The protesters organized by BOEC assembled in front of the President's administration building demanding new and fair elections, and the replacement of caretaker Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov and caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev.
The Velichie supporters gathered in front of the National Assembly, right next to the other protesting group. They are not willing to accept their party’s election result and believe it was rigged.
