The capital of Austria, Vienna, hosted the Poets Live project performance, on March 13, the non-governmental organization Societas Bulgarica, organizer of the event told BTA.

Nikola Yotov and Alexander Leonidov from Societas Bulgarica said that the performance went very well. It gathered an audience of 500. After the show the audience applauded the Bulgarian actors for more than five minutes, standing on their feet, which is proof that the audience was really satisfied with the performance, the organizers said.

Beloved Bulgarian poems were performed by actors Vlado Penev, Boyko Krastanov, Vesela Babinova, Zachary Baharov, Ivan Burnev, Luiza Grigorova – Makariev, Malin Krastev, Teodora Duhovnikova, Julian Vergov and maestro Antoni Donchev.

The auditorium was packed, the audience was standing, and Vienna was ever closer to our homeland, the team of the Bulgarian society in the Austrian capital said.

The crew of the Poets Live project wrote in its Instagram profile: “Vienna and the Poets! If we knew it was so wonderful, we would have come earlier. We would like to thank all the people from Vienna, and those who came from Germany, the Netherlands, and even Sofia. We would like to warmly thank our partners from Societas Bulgarica for the excellent organization and warm welcome! We leave with our hearts brimming with love!”

The Poets Live is a project dedicated to poetry and the audiences’ love for it. In it, popular actors present their favourite poems. In five years, since it has been running, the show has been staged more than 70 times in front of an audience of more than tens of thousands. In addition to Bulgaria, the project has been successfully presented to the Bulgarian audience in Rome, London and Paris.
