The Imperial Eagle Festival will take place in southeastern town of Topolovgrad (Haskovo Region) on October 19, the Bulgarian Society for the Protection of Birds (BSPB) and the Topolovgrad Municipality, organizers of the event said. The festival will bring together nature lovers, farmers, culinarians and folklore groups in a celebration of the nature and culture of the Sakar Mountains area.

BSPB recalled that the Imperial Eagle is among the most remarkable species in Bulgaria and this festival is an expression of the long-standing efforts of the organization and local communities for its conservation. The Imperial Eagle takes an important place in the grassland ecosystem and symbolizes the relationship between biodiversity and traditional agriculture in the region.

The festival will give visitors the opportunity to learn about the work of the BSPB and their partners who are making efforts to protect the Imperial Eagle and its habitat.

The event will offer visitors a variety of activities. There will be a farmer's exhibition, culinary tasting and a folklore programme.
