site.btaTruck with Illegal Migrants Stopped Near Burgas

Border Police officers detained a truck with illegal migrants near Burgas on Wednesday, said the Border Police General Directorate.

The officers stopped the truck for inspection near the nature conservation site Poda and found 29 migrants hidden in it. The migrants self-identified as Afghans. Some of them were taken to hospital. Their condition is not serious.

The driver of the truck, a Bulgarian citizen with a criminal record, was detained. Pre-trial proceedings have also been initiated in the case.
