site.btaTISP Leader Comments on Return of Migrants to Country of Registration

Commenting on a statement by GERB leader Boyko Borissov earlier on Monday, There Is Such a People (TISP) leader Slavi Trifonov said on Facebook the return of migrants to the country where they were registered became possible under an agreement signed in 2023 by then foreign minister Mariya Gabriel.

Borissov said "migration was zero" under GERB's government. "What is happening in Germany, Austria and Belgium will result in starting to implement the agreements for return of migrants to the countries of origin."

Trifonov commented: "I know who is to blame. Because returning migrants to the country in which they are registered has been made possible by the agreement signed at the end of last year, under which Bulgaria undertakes to accept unconditionally any returned migrant."

The TISP leader said that Mariya Gabriel, the GERB foreign minister chosen by Borissov himself, had signed the agreement, which Trifonov called "a betrayal" of this country.
