Bulgaria’s Defence Minister Assures Ukrainian Ambassador that Aid to Ukraine Will Continue

Caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov conferred with Ukrainian Ambassador to Bulgaria Olesya Ilashchuk here on Monday, the Defence Ministry said on its website. Zapryanov assured Ilashchuk that Bulgaria's aid to Ukraine will continue, following the decisions taken by the National Assembly.

The two sides discussed the informal meeting of EU Defence Ministers which was held in Brussels on Friday, as well as the upcoming meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. The ministerial meeting’s agenda focused on strengthening the Union's defence preparedness and its military aid to Ukraine.

Ilashchuk thanked Zapryanov for the assistance and stressed its importance for Ukraine.

Attending the meeting between Zapryanov and Ilashchuk were also Brigadier General Lyubomir Monov, Director of the Defence Policy and Planning Directorate, and Major General Zdravko Pehlivanov, Chief of the Defence Staff.
