For the first time in the history of judo in Bulgaria, the country will host a world championship, the President of the Bulgarian Judo Federation, Rumen Stoilov, said on Monday. During the Lima World Championships Cadets, Stoilov received the championship flag from the President of the Pan American Judo Confederation and Vice President of the International Judo Federation, Carlos Zegarra Presser.

Bulgaria is set to host the event at the end of August 2025.

"The Bulgarian Judo Federation and our country are honored to host the event. It will be the first time we organize an event of this magnitude, and I am confident we will manage successfully," Stoilov said from Lima.
