site.btaBranch Organizations Call on Caretaker PM-Designate to Not Make Unjustified Replacements of Ministers

The heads of three branch organizations in the food and beverage industry call on caretaker prime minister-designate Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva to not make unjustified replacements of ministers. They call on her to replace ministers for failure to do their jobs, and not because of political pressure, because businesses do not have time for political games.

The call is made by the Bulgarian Association of Restaurants, the Association of Association of Restaurants in Bulgaria, and the Branch Association of Restaurant Owners in Sofia on behalf of the Bulgarian tourism business. The position is signed by Richard Alibegov, Emil Kolarov, and Atanas Dimitrov.

The three organizations' leaders state that any new minister needs months to get into the specifics of their work.

The position recalls the agreement reached with the Energy Ministry and Parliament on compensations for the high electricity prices, noting that the high bills have started arriving but the compensations are still nowhere to be seen.

"We held a series of meetings to solve the huge problem with the issue of visas for employees from non-EU countries. We met with the Ministers of Interior and of Tourism, with representatives of the Foreign Ministry and of many agencies. We received support from the National Assembly for legislative changes. Unfortunately, the problem is yet to be solved, and many of the agreed employees are yet to obtain a work permit," the position reads. Concern is expressed over the whole process starting from scratch at the height of the summer season.
