site.btaFinance Minister to Participate in Global Forum on Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Lyudmila Petkova will participate in the 17th plenary meeting of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Ministry of Finance reported on its website on Monday. The forum will take place in Asuncion, Paraguay, between November 25 and 29.

During the meeting, Petkova will sign the documents for Bulgaria's accession to the Multilateral Agreement between Competent Authorities on Automatic Exchange of Information under the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework.

This act will allow the exchange of information between Bulgaria and partner jurisdictions outside the European Union, which could improve Bulgaria's reputation as a country that follows and applies international standards for tax transparency and effective administrative cooperation with its partners, the Ministry of Finance said.

At the invitation of the Chair of the Global Forum on Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes, Gael Perraud, and the Head of the Secretariat of the Forum, Zayda Manatta, Petkova will deliver the opening speech at the introductory speech at the opening of a panel on the topic of providing assurance for the future of privacy and data protection.
