Commenting on the President's appointment of Goritsa Grancharova-Kozhareva as caretaker Prime Minister on Friday, MP Dzhevdet Chakarov, one of the two leaders of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), called for fair and just elections.
Chakarov said: "Given that the group of the authentic MRF could not participate in Thursday's consultations with the President, we would like to express our position. Yesterday and today, we call for fair and just elections."
"This is in the interest of the whole public. We will make sure there is no linkage as seen in the previous caretaker prime minister," Chakarov said, referring to GERB's Dimitar Glavchev. "We hope that this time, in the interest of all citizens, in the interest of all political entities, we will all monitor the future actions of the caretaker cabinet to ensure that the elections will be fair and just, and we call on all the competent state institutions and all political entities to keep an eye on these actions. We would like to have fair and just elections," he said.
Chakarov is one of the MPs who were either expelled from the MRF parliamentary group or left it because they support MRF founder and Honorary Chairman Ahmed Dogan. The MRF parliamentary group is led by Delyan Peevski.
