On Thursday, the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (FEBA) and the National Centre for Polar Studies (NCPS), both of the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, are holding a conference on "Research and Innovation for Climate, Sustainability, and Citizens - From Local to National and Global Perspectives and Lessons Learnt for Better Policies, Practices, and Life", the organizers said.

The event aims to demonstrate that climate change affects everyone, but at the same time, it can be influenced by everyone at regional, national, EU and global level.

In the first part of the conference, FEBA's Net-Zero Lab and ESG Lab will highlight the need for progress in the implementation of existing and recently adopted European policies - the Net-Zero Industry Act, including strategic plans for the deployment of technologies with net-zero impact potential. Net-Zero Lab is committed to providing actionable knowledge on how to effectively translate climate-neutrality targets into tangible actions. ESG Lab contributes research and educational products to the development and application of the environmental, social and managerial aspects of business.

The second part of the conference will focus on scientific diplomacy and research related to environmental change in Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.

The conference is part of the programme accompanying the 61st session of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC-61), which is taking place in Sofia between July 27 and August 2.
