At a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, a report by the interagency working group will be reviewed, focusing on identifying road segments, measures, responsible entities, and resources under the jurisdiction of the Road Infrastructure Agency to ensure road maintenance and safety over the coming months, Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov said on Tuesday following a meeting on road safety at the Council of Ministers.
"We will take clear political responsibility for the actions that will be presented to the public. These actions will be linked to accountable individuals, deadlines, and mechanisms for monitoring public spending," Zhelyazkov emphasized. He added that the government intends to make use of existing road maintenance contracts signed in 2022, which have not yet been acted upon.
"We will specify the timeframe and sites, and we will not spare resources to get it done," the Prime Minister said.
"Starting today [April 8, 2025], we are putting an end to the information feudalism between institutions," he warned.
The systems of the National Revenue Agency, Customs Agency, Border Police, National Toll Administration, and the Road Infrastructure Agency will be integrated to enable shared access to data, rather than information being siloed within individual agencies.
