Three Bulgarians Detained for Vandalizing Holocaust Museum in Paris

On June 25, 2024, the State Agency for National Security (SANS), in cooperation with Interior Ministry, detained on the territory of Bulgaria two citizens suspected of vandalizing Mémorial de la Shoah, the Holocaust Museum in Paris, on May 14, 2024. A third Bulgarian for the same act in another undisclosed EU Member State, SANS said in a press release on Friday.

The actions were taken in execution of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the French authorities on July 19, 2024, in connection with ongoing criminal proceedings for participation in an organized criminal group, destruction and damage of foreign property after a prior agreement with other persons, on ethnic, racial and other grounds.

The detainees are known to belong to Bulgarian far-right groups.

SANS is conducting actions to identify instigators and accomplices in this act of vandalism.
