On Thursday, the Lovech Prosecution Service confirmed the arrest of seven individuals involved in the illegal processing, production, and possession of weapons, ammunition, and explosives. The arrests were part of an investigation in Lovech and Teteven.

After a police operation involving officers of the Directorate General State Border Police, organized in the districts of Lovech, Pleven and Vratsa, the seven suspects were arrested for up to 24 hours.

Eight properties and four vehicles were searched, discovering a cache of illegal weapons, including a hunting rifle, two tampered air rifles, numerous pistols and revolvers, two air pistols, five gas-signal pistols, and various weapon parts such as barrels, barrel boxes, bolts, cartridges, weapon magazines, and optical devices. Police also seized 752 rounds of ammunition, 231 rifle bullets, and three jars of a dark granular substance resembling gunpowder.
