At present, the battle is who will take the position of fierce opposition, GERB leader Boyko Borissov commented during the presentation of GERB-UDF's MP candidates in Sofia on Thursday. He is the formation's top-of-the-list candidate in the 25th constituency. "During these months, I managed to study our partners well, the class is in our favour," he noted. "We are talking about a new social contract," he added.

In Borissov's words, the State is currently very divided: there's the President's group, Vazrazhdane, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB). "Where is the National Assembly's motto, 'Unity Makes Strength'?" he asked. According to him, the CC-DB leaders' statements from the last several days eliminated the possibility for a centre-right government. The MRF say they can work with GERB but not with CC-DB and Vazrazhdane, thus excluding themselves from the game, Borissov noted. The current battle is over who will be fierce opposition, he added.

"If we have 121 MPs, we will form a government, I will become prime minister. If CC-DB have 121 MPs, I will applaud them, and the same goes for Vazrazhdane, Slavi Trifonov's party [There Is Such a People]," Borissov also said.
