Bulgarian President Rumen Radev was welcomed with an official ceremony at the Zagulba presidential residence in Baku by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. The Bulgarian President is on an official visit to Baku at the invitation of his counterpart.
The presidents of the two countries were accompanied by their wives Desislava Radeva and Mehriban Alieva, as well as by the delegations of the two countries. At the beginning of the ceremony, the anthems of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan were played.
Later, the two heads of state will hold one-on-one talks and then plenary talks will be held between the two delegations.
A number of documents on strengthening bilateral cooperation are expected to be signed in the presence of the two presidents.
Radev will also meet with the Chairman of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.
The Bulgarian head of State's visit focused on strengthening and deepening the strategic partnership and cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including energy, economy, high technologies, innovations, transport and tourism.
