site.btaStill No Candidates to Head Supreme Administrative Court
Once again, no candidates were nominated for the position of President of the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) during Thursday's meeting of the Plenum of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), which convened in another attempt to elect a new head for the court.
The initial effort failed after four consecutive weeks without any nominations.
The Supreme Administrative Court is currently headed by former SAC President Georgi Cholakov, who was appointed acting president on November 22, following the end of his term. He will remain in this role until a permanent successor is elected.
Cholakov's appointment was supported by eight members of the SJC Judges Chamber, with two voting against. During the vote, nearly all SAC judges agreed he should remain in charge until the election process is completed.
