site.btaBulgaria’s Finance Minister Petkova Confers with European Commissioner for Economy Gentiloni
Bulgaria’s caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova conferred with European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni in Brussels on Monday. Petkova is on a two-day official visit to Brussels, the Finance Ministry said in a press release.
During the meeting, Petkova underlined the caretaker government’s priorities to continue Bulgaria's efforts to join the Eurozone and to implement the Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Gentiloni reaffirmed the European Commission's support for Bulgaria's accession to the Eurozone in 2025 once the country meets the convergence criteria.
Petkova also highlighted Bulgaria's intentions to implement the measures under the second payment and update of the Recovery and Resilience Plan, together with the REPowerEU chapter. In this context, a meeting with the leadership of the EC’s Recovery and Resilience Task Force will be held on Tuesday, the press release further reads.
