Non-household end customers of electricity, including kindergartens, creches, schools, community centres, churches and sports schools, will be compensated for their energy costs between January 1 and June 30, 2024 under a programme adopted by the Council of Ministers on Friday. Currently, these customers buy electricity at market prices.

The compensation will be provided through the suppliers as a reduction of the invoiced amount payable. The financial resources needed for the programme, about BGN 30 million, are provided by contributions to the Electricity System Security Fund.
