site.btaEuropean Taekwondo Cup to Be Held in Sofia

Sofia will host the biggest ITF Taekwondo tournament of the year "Bulgaria Open-Sofia Cup 2024". The competition will be held in the Asics Arena on November 30 and December 1 and will be attended by 962 taekwondo players in all age groups (children, juniors, men and women).

This year the tournament has the status of European Cup and the elite of the European Taekwondo ITF will gather in the capital. Competitors from 77 clubs from 14 countries will compete in sparring and form.

The competition is expected to be very contested and interesting, with Grand Master Michael Pruitt, President of the European Taekwondo Federation, the heads of the Greek, Ukrainian, Italian, Serbian and Bosnian headquarters among the official guests. 

"It will be a very strong tournament and we are very happy with the large number of competitors that will participate. I am sure that we will be as always a very good host for the delegations coming from abroad," said Mario Bogdanov, President of the BF Taekwondo ITF.

The opening ceremony will be on Saturday at 2:30 pm and the programme starts at 9 am. Entrance for spectators in the hall will be free.
