Addressing politicians from other parties during Continue the Change's (CC) General Assembly on Saturday, CC co-leader Kiril Petkov said that CC partymen are ready to sit down and negotiate, but not at the cost of their principles. "We will not betray our principles, believe us, believe in this. If you still do not believe us, we will hold [parliamentary] elections again," Petkov said.
"At the next [parliamentary] elections you have to choose whether you want a prime minister who has an European look - an academic with knowledge, uncorrupted, or you want these both," Petkov said, pointing to photos of GERB leader Boyko Borissov and Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Chairperson Delyan Peevski. "Don't be ashamed, people, say it, no problem - 'We decide everything together, we are one'. It will be easier and fairer", he added, speaking of the leaders of GERB and MRF.
"While you thought you were outplaying us tactically, a big, strategical change happened, and that change cannot be undone," Petkov said, indirectly addressing Borissov and Peevski. "Bulgarians changed their expectations and their thinking. Just two and a half years ago, Bulgaria was a small and poor country. Now it is evident that it was not a poor country, it was just a very robbed country. Bulgaria can be a normal European country, not a periphery dependent on Russia", he added.
