Conditions are suitable for hiking in the mountains on Thursday but the weather forecast should be closely monitored because deterioration is expected and fog is likely, the Mountain Rescue Service told BTA.

Mountain rescuers said it was clear in the lower parts of the mountains and there was passing fog in the higher parts.  They added that the snow cover ranged from zero to 50 cm and as temperatures were high, avalanche danger zones should not be entered.
