On July 28, 2009, archaeology professors Nikolay Ovcharov and Hitko Vachev unearthed the grave of a medieval princess in the backyard of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in the city of Veliko Tarnovo.

The burial of the royal persona was dated to the second half of the 14th century.

The princess was clad in lavish clothes embroidered with gold thread. She wore lots of jewelry: a golden ring with an amethyst, golden earrings and gold-plated silver scarf pins.
