Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov will take part in the World Economic Forum in the Swiss Alpine resort of Davos on Tuesday, the Government's press service reported. The discussions this year will focus on ideas and strategies related to economic uncertainty, environmental risks, artificial intelligence and countering misinformation.

Denkov's participation comes in the context of the military conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza and the growing global challenges reflected in the Global Risks Report 2024. According to the report, misinformation is one of the biggest short-term risks, while extreme weather is emerging as a key long-term issue.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister will take part in the forum, where these and other issues will be discussed by world leaders and experts from various fields in a series of discussions and personal talks. The motto of the Davos meeting this year is "Rebuilding Trust". "The theme is a direct response to the erosion of trust that can be seen in societies and between nations," Denkov noted.

More than 2,800 participants, including some 60 heads of state and government, will take part in the Davos forum. Among the top political leaders will be French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Chinese Premier Li Qiang and Argentinian President Javier Milei. The US will be represented by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
