Hundreds of supporters of the party of the current Kosovar Prime Minister Albin Kurti gathered on Sunday evening at Skanderbeg Square in the center of Pristina to celebrate the nearly processed preliminary results of the parliamentary vote count in Kosovo.

According to the latest data from Kosovo's Central Election Commission (CEC) (as of 4 a.m.), the Self-Determination Movement is leading with 41.99%, reported the Albanian editorial of Radio Free Europe. These are not the full preliminary results.

Kurti was at the square on Sunday evening along with ministers from his current government – Djeljal Sveclja (Minister of Internal Affairs), Albulena Haxhiu (Minister of Justice), Donika Gervalla (Minister of Foreign Affairs), and others.

He stated that his party, the Self-Determination Movement, and its partners Guxo! (Dare!) and Alternative are the winners, and that the electoral process was democratic. Guxo! and Alternative participated in the parliamentary vote with joint candidate lists alongside the Self-Determination Movement.

Kurti added that during his next term, he will focus on the judiciary system and the vetting process within it, the return of property seized by the state, and its provision to the people and children of Kosovo.

"We must ensure that our country progresses in every aspect: economy, healthcare, education, culture," Kurti also said.

The CEC is expected to announce the preliminary results of the vote soon. The online platform has not been functioning for the last three hours, reported the newspaper Koha Ditore at around 4 a.m.

The preliminary results do not include "conditional" votes, votes from people with special needs, or votes from outside Kosovo.

The official results and the distribution of mandates by party will be clear in the coming days, after the votes from abroad are counted. The final batch of ballots from voters outside the country is expected to arrive in Kosovo on Monday.
