A ceremony to welcome the military contingent of the 61st Stryama Mechanised Brigade of the Land Forces, which participated in the European Union (EU) military operation in Bosnia and Herzegovina "Althea", was held on August 16 in Kazanlak, the Ministry of Defence said.

Lieutenant General Mihail Popov, Deputy Chief of Defence, greeted the contingent on the successful completion of the mission and their return to their homeland. "It is a pleasure for me to be here before you today - firstly, because I see you all back in the homeland and secondly, because from the feedback about the contingent it can be concluded that you have done your job perfectly," Popov told the servicemen.

By order of the Commander of the Joint Forces Command (JFC), Major General Valeri Tsolov, the contingent was awarded. A prayer for health and prosperity was offered.
