A fire near the Bulgarian-Turkish border in the municipalities of Topolovgrad and Svilengrad has been contained, Hristo Panteleev, of the regional fire safety directorate in Haskovo, told BTA.
He said that the fire started from neighbouring Turkiye but didn't spread over a large area. Six teams of firefighters, forest rangers and volunteers are at the site. At the moment there is no danger for nearby villages.
There were more fires in Haskovo Region on Friday, where a Code Orange weather warning for high temperatures has been declared. „There are more fires, but they are contained quickly. The situation isn't serious at the moment," added Panteleev.
