The Sofia Regional Prosecution has charged a Romanian national with assisting undocumented foreigners transit through Bulgaria, the prosecution said on Monday.
On July 16 he was intercepted at a junction in the capital Sofia transporting eight Syrians in a car.
Pretrial proceedings have been opened into the case.
The Romanian has been detained for 72 hours and the court will be petitioned to leave him indefinitely in remand.
