Bulgarians Were at Risk of Poverty
in 2017


Brussels, January 22 (BTA) - The proportion of young people aged 18-24 in work and at risk of poverty in Bulgaria was 14.7 per cent in 2017, the Statistical Office of the European Union EUROSTAT reported on its website.

The at-risk-of-poverty rate for the 18-24 age group in the EU was estimated to be 11.0 per cent, 1.1 percentage points below the figure for 2016.

Individuals are identified as being at risk of poverty if their equivalised disposable income is less than 60 per cent of the median equivalised disposable income after social transfers have been taken into account. RY/LG
