site.btaPM Meets with Mothers of Disabled Children to Discuss Plans for Reform of Medical Evaluation System
January 24 (BTA) - Prime Minister Boyko Borissov met here
Thursday with mothers of disabled children from a nationwide
pro-reform network, to discuss with them contemplated changes in
the disability evaluation system and measures against fraud
against the pension insurance system. The Prime Minister told
the mothers that the government delivered on its promise to
provide additional resources and make life better for disabled
people, and is now focused on reforming the medical expert
evaluation system.
The two sides also discussed the implementation of the action
plan for adoption of legislation relating to disabilities.
The meeting was also attended by the Ministers of Labour and
Social Policy, of Health and of the Interior.
The mothers presented to the Prime Minister a letter in which
they thank him for keeping his promise to look into alerts for
documentary fraud concerning disability pensions.
"We remain ready for joint work to resolve the problems
regarding the rights of disabled people and more particularly
the inefficient and morally outdated medical evaluation system,"
