European Commission Urges
Bulgaria and Other Countries to Comply
with EU Rules
Brussels, January 24 (BTA correspondent Nikolay Jeliazkov) - The European Commission has sent reasoned opinions and letters of formal notice to Bulgaria and other Member States urging them as follows: to transpose the Directives on public procurement and concessions; to transpose the Energy Efficiency Directive into national law; to respect their obligations for the conservation of natural habitats and protected species, included in the Natura 2000 network; to comply with EU legislation on unfair terms in consumer contracts; to implement the Data Protection Law Enforcement Directive; to completely transpose the 4th Anti-Money Laundering Directive into national law; and to correctly implement the framework decision on deprivation of liberty.
Unless those Member States take relevant action, the European Commission may pursue the next infringement steps, the press release said. LI/DD
